« J'ai particulièrement apprécié A NIGHT AT THE QUEEN'S HOUSE porté par Maya Kawatake Pinon, Gabrielle Rubio et Ayumi  Nakagawa. Travaillé et abouti, ce spectacle nous plonge dans un univers poétique intense et plein de grâce. Les pièces musicales, judicieusement mises en valeur dans le duo clavecin et archiluth, répondent à la danse, et celle-ci, sorte de synthèse parlante entre une chorégraphie ancienne imaginée et un monde plus actuel, relève la compréhension immédiate de l'intrigue. A travers ses moments suspendus, la magie de cette création opère. Les retours de mon public ont traduit une grande émotion et un émerveillement certain.»

A NIGHT AT THE QUEEN'S HOUSE est une performance pour danse, musique ancienne et texte inspirée des figures d’Artemisia Gentileschi et d'Henriette-Marie de France. À partir d'un répertoire italien, français et anglais des XVIᵉ et XVIIᵉ siècles, l'œuvre met en dialogue patrimoine baroque et écriture contemporaine pour explorer les liens entre création, représentation, pouvoir et condition féminine. La chorégraphie articule gestes historiquement inspirés et vocabulaire actuel, dans une forme sensible où musique, danse et parole composent un espace de rencontre entre mémoire et présent.

A NIGHT AT THE QUEEN'S HOUSE is a performance for dance, early music and spoken text inspired by the lives of Artemisia Gentileschi and Henrietta Maria of France. Drawing on an Italian, French and English repertoire from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the work brings Baroque heritage into dialogue with contemporary artistic language to explore creation, representation, power and the condition of women. Combining historically informed movement with a contemporary choreographic vocabulary, the performance creates a sensitive encounter between music, dance and text, where memory and the present converge.
